Hi ppl!

I have a beat i created in midi inside Cubase 5, that i want to sound muffled. i dont wanna muffle the whole beat just a part of it.
So i assume ill hafto use automation.

If anyone has a tutorial for this, or can help me out it would make my day. :)

Thanks in advance!

Muffled how? Like the sound is coming from another room kind of muffled? You could try a low pass filter for that.

well duh!

Thanks Mr Clean. Yeah, i have my beat doing the verse as is, then comes a part of the verse where i want it to sound like the neighbour is playing a loud techno song souding through the concret walls.
I was trying an equaliser but didnt like what i heard. Ill try an lfo. :)

The simple solution to do what you're asking would be to record a speaker playing your track through a wall and just drop the audio into the mix surely. Don't you have a mic?

Whatever you try it will be very difficult to emulate the effect and recording it would be so much simpler.

What synth and/or drums are you trying to do this to?

More than likely you are going to want to use the filter on the synth instead of an eq IMO and yes you want to use automation for this.

It might be easier to draw in the CC data though so that's why I'm asking what synth you are using. I'm guessing the CC data you want to pencil in will be 74, but it might be easier to draw in the automation data as an alternative.

Also, are you trying to do a filer sweep or just low pass for a part and then have it come back instantly?
