Probably most Bootsy Collins records would have that effect on them, he's a longtime Mutron addict. He had the guts of one installed in one of his basses...

IIRC it's an envelope follower; the harder you play, the more it opens up the filter. Kind of like an auto-wah.

Can add a funky spice to bass and clavinet tracks, but can be overused pretty easily.

Hey thanks, TP. I spent the money on a Rogue Moog synth yesterday, but I still plan to get a couple Mu-tron pedals over the next few months. From the few clips I've heard, their spacey sound will be perfect.

that is a great synth -- so simple and easy to use but pretty powerful, too. before i'd get a mutron i'd get some kind of tape delay to go with the rogue -- it's an unbeatable combo! maybe you already have one.

the mutron low-pass filter pedal is awesome.
