I will be buying the mr8 soon together with a zoom rt123. I want to record 1 stereo drum track, 1 bass track, 3 guitar tracks and 2 vocal tracks. how can I do it so that the two vocal tracks will be left together with the rest bounced together?

can I do it like this?
drums on track 5/6
bass on track 1
guitars on tracks 2,3,4
bounce 1-6 to 7/8
After that I'll have 6 more tracks for vocals
I'll put vocals on 1&2
can I move tracks 7/8 to 5/6 so that I can bounce all of them to 7/8 for mastering? Is the mr8 capable of the move feature like what I said above?

any help would be appreciated. thanks...

That should work fine. Are you recording the bass off the zoom, or just the drums?

It's do-able. But I would suggest before each reduction that you back-up all the tracks to a pc using WAVmanager so you won't lose anything [other than time] if you don't like the results after mixing down.

I'll be using the zoom for both drum and bass. I'll be recording punk and some alternative. how would you describe the sound quality of the mr8? Will it be good for making good sounding songs and sending the cds to friends?

Go through some of the threads. Some of the people in this forum have "posted" their work to websites and have provided links to download.
The MR-8 advertises "CD-quality" sound at 16-bit/44.1Khz.
Download some of their work and check out the results for yourself.
