hi folks
ive never had the wee red box linked up to the pc cos ive never had the cable before. I do now,,,so the question is,,,,
can i MIX a song directly onto the pc using Music Match Jukebox or something,,,,or am i ,,as i thought,,,,,,,,a big fat doodlehead?

If you haven't already, download wavmanager from the fostex site. This makes it easy to transfer tracks via USB to your pc. After transferring the tracks use a multi-tracking software (I use n-track www.fasoft.com ) to do all your mixing on your pc.

You can also transfer tracks without wavmanager by putting the MR-8 in USB mode (you have to do this with the wavmanager also) and then opening "my computer" and you will see the MR-8 (I think it says toshiba or something). Open it and you will see the tracks. Just copy them to your hard drive.

thats right

you arent using windows 98 are you? then you would need a card reader, as 98 is not supported via usb by the fostex mr 8

Hi KD
i remember i did download the wav thingy before a failed attempt in the past. wish i could get my head around all this, but even the simple instructions you just gave me seem daunting to a fudd like myself.its actually been putting me off using the wee red box cos its all very frustrating for the non technical minded like me!
DOH! Thanks !

Hey Dave
Im using WIndows XP professionall mate,,,whatever that means!Cheers!

Assuming you have tracks recorded on the MR-8 and you still have wavmanager let's do this one step at a time. After each step reply with what happened.

Step 1. Assuming you have the MR-8 connected to your pc (if not connect it) put the MR-8 in USB mode. This is done in the menu on the MR-8.

Let me know what happens and we will go on to the next step.

Monsterpop, you are in good company from this direction!
