Why is it when I press the record button after arming tracks to monitor the sound, do I get this wicked static/fuzz in my headphones? Any clues? I can't seem to hear it in recordings but I'd like to know if its there and and/or if anyone else has had this problem? Thanx alot!

Check the cable on your phones. Sounds like a bad connection, or a bad set of phones.

IF they work correctly with other gear, then it might be a headphone amp problem in the MR8.

The headphone amp on the MR8 is weird. I have done numerous things to clean up the sound on headphones. Sometimes you can twist the plug where it plugs into the MR8, plug into the other headphone jack, or turn the unit off and then back on. Usually one of these cleans up the sound for me

Great!

Hey sounds great! I'd like to know if you have had any problems with your recordings? Does that static transfer from the headphones to the recording? or is it isolated to the cans? (i.e) if I hear the static in the cans will I hear it in the final mix?

The only noise what ever resulted for me was what came directly through the mic.

yea, the mr 8 is notorious for the headphone amps freaking out, fostex recomends turning the unit off and on again to fix it.... always worked for me(so far)....
