I am a newbie to home recording and am having trouble connecting up.
I have a Fostex MR-8 multitrack recorder, a Behringer UB1002 mixer, and a ZOOM RFX-300 multi effects processor.

I am having trouble routing to get a signal. Can anyone help me out?

Thanks,
Ben

I don't own an MR8, but can you get a signal straight into it alone? Are you arming the tracks properly when inputting a signal? In general, I would think the outputs of the Behringer simply go into the inputs on the MR8... Depending on the output level on the Behringer, you will have to adjust the gains on the MR8 to get a good signal. The Zoom, I believe can be added between the B and the MR8, simply by using the in's and out's on it as well. (Outs from B/ins to Z/outs from Z/ ins to MR8...)

mr8 setup

You should go instrument to mixer to fx to mr8. All those output will affect your input to mr8. If you have no signal it could be the outs on your gear or your track and record button need to on at the same time to monitor your recording. and for playback. Also make sure your input settings are set on line. The slides are your monitor input signal and your trim control determines your recording signal/input. Happy Overdubbing

mixer

i have a full rack of gear and a mixer i rout to the mr 8, you need to describe in detail the way you are hooking things up, then someone will be able to help you with to routing, the previous two answers to your question should put you on the right track
