I got my MR-8 Friday and though I've had limited time have been reading the manual and trying it out (haven't actually recorded anything yet). I've got a couple of basic questions that I am not finding in the manual. The answers are probably in the manual, but I don't understand "recording lanquage" yet.
1. How do you listen to a recorded track while recording on to another?

2. What should the levels be set at? I've saw someone on this forum say that they try for 12. Or should you go for 0?
Is the digital realm the same as analog whereas you shoot for 0db for the best fidelity or does that matter in digital.

The recorded tracks automatically play back if you raise the faders that correspond with the tracks they have been recorded on. (i.e. if you record guitar on track 1, then decide to record another guitar on tarck 2, just raise the fader where track 1 is and youwill hear it, you can even pan it L or R or add effects to it.)

As far as levels. I personally stick to around 12 because if I am mixing down and want to use some of the mastering effects of the MR-8, I need the extra room to boost the signal since the mastering effects add more to the levels. For example, If you record up to zero and then use the "powerful" mastering effect, you may clip the levels. That is just my opinion, feel free to ry anything you want as the results may surprise you.
