Hi, I've been able to successfully move WAV files to my PC. Today I tried to move the entire file, in order to store it. It wasn't converted to WAV and only had four tracks recorded. The file is in the PC. When in USB mode, exploring on the PC indicates the file is still in the MR-8. The trouble is that when I turn on the MR-8, it just keeps asking for a new song name, as if there wasn't anything there!! I add a new song and then there is only the new song, not the old one. I go back to USB mode and exploring on the PC indicates the file is still in the MR-8. Can anyone help me get it back? Kinda confusing for a geezer like me.

I REALLY like that name! I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what's going on. Are you saying you have more than 4 tracks recorded on the MR8?

Well, I only had four tracks recorded. I went to save the data on my PC. This only copies the data off of the MR-8, I think. I then turned the MR-8 on and the song was gone. I tried to click and drop it back from the PC to no avail. When I have the MR-8 in USB mode, and I explore with the PC, the song is on that drive. I just can't access it. It was pretty good, so I'd like to get it back!! Clear as mud??

Did you download the wave manager from the fostex site?

I think that would be a good start. I'm not sure if you should download the upgrade with existing files on the card. I've been delaying the upgrade until I can format my card first. It's probably just me being paranoid.......I'm like that......I hear voices too.

BTW....If you end up taking the unit back, don't forget to keep the card so you can get your stuff offa there. See......told you I was paranoid.

i updated mine with other files on the card. it won't harm the other files at all.

I haven't downloaded the WAV manager yet, but I think I've solved my problem. I used Blaze Audio's Wave Creator and it looked like it modified the file. I converted the tracks back to Windows Media Player and the MR-8 was able to recognize them. Thanks, I'll be back for sure.
