I think there's a bug in the MR-8 with the 'undo' file. Even after using 'delete undo', I wasn't getting as much space as I expected. I looked at the contents of the card from my PC and saw that a couple tracks had extra wavs left over - like multiple levels of undo. Somehow by moving the tracks to 5/6 and then back again, 'delete undo' finally released the space.

I think Clif had noticed that formatting the card returned space, and I wonder if this is related.

Yeah the mysterious "I hit the undo button but I still didn't gain all my time back problem". Thanks for shedding more light on it.

I had wondered why I would sometimes copy a song with three tracks and have 15 wavs on the card!

Clearly the system can support virtual tracks, since it's not just keeping the last take, and all previous takes are listed in the .ADL. This may be a function that will be enabled once card prices come down - does't make much sense on a 128MB card...
