MPC2000 MIDI pitch

What's good dudes?

When I use my MPC to sequence sounds from external equipment, like my DJX keyboard... The pads don't match up with the normal keyboard pitch, but the various pitches are all over the damn pads...


Can someone help me out with this?

Thats because the mpc pads arent setup in chromatic order. You will have to set it up by hand to go in order. If you had the XL u could make an autochromatic program which would put the pads in chromatic scale. So you will have to either just use your keys to play in chromatic order or setup the pads within the mpc2000 to be in chromatic order starting with 35 first and so forth.

I DID have the pitch right somehow before though...somebody know...let me know, too!


Oh and just so I don't have to start another thread: my keyboard has more than the standard 128 GM sounds, so I step-program the program changes (msb, lsb, program change)...


but isn't there an easier way to record your program change...so you don't have to fuck around with the sound-list in the manual?
