MPC2000 & external sequencer

Hello all-
Does anyone know if I can use my MPC 2000 as a "normal" sampler?
I would like to use my Kurzweil sequencer and can not seem to find how to only trigger certain midi channels.
If it is not possible... How would I link the two sequencers together? Everyone brags how great the sequencer is in it, but I have not found that way. If someone knows this sequencer, please tell me why it is superior!

Did you try turning to the midi channels (1A-1 etc.) on without switching to midi?

I posted a similar topic on another board the other day. It's a good drum machine even better as a standalone beat machine but it's lacking the tricks of a really good sequncer.
