MPC owners help please

I have a question. Ok I have a mpc2000xl and a roland xp-80. Ok when recording first I might record a piano next I want to record and horn but whenever I turn the dial on the keyboard to the horn my previous recorded piano will play horn, What do I do?
 
It consist of channels

When playing a piano track and you sequence it into the mpc.The channels must match what is being delivers to your mpc.For instance,if you run the piano track thru channel 1,your keyboard will have to be optimized for channel 1 also.Horn track for track2.Both your keyboard and mpc will have to be configures to channel 2 to achieve them results.etc.. ;)
 
just like dj fingaz said set your mpc & xp 80 on the same midi chanels, piano ch1-mpc-ch1, horn ch2-mpc ch2. also stop your mpc and xp-80 while changings ch's this will help to keep from confusing the mpc and the xp80
 
Man I tried all that Sh*t, is there any thing else I need to change. I read the manual of my keyboard and mpc and I can't figure it out. Help PLEASE
 
question

on midi output what do you guys have the soft thru set to: off, as track, omni-a, omni-b or omni -ab
