Hi you guys, i want to stream my finished track to the highest quality .mp3 ... i use Synapse Orion 8 & can get it to 320kbps ... but most of the big tracks from released dance/electronic artists i've released are about 10x the size of my files and better quality up loud...
does anyone know how i can end up with a bigger, better sound quality file?
thanks

Firstly, what is wrong with the current 320 kbps version you have? Does it sound bad?

Cheers :)

thanks guys for the responses...
I have streamed it to .WAV before and then converted it to .mp3 which seems to increase the file size a little but not the quality particularly...
The quality of the 320 .mp3 isn't bad but i'm hoping for a "thicker", even better quality end product if possible...
thanks in advance :listeningmusic:

hey phantom

no I don't reckon there's any difference between the .mp3 & the DAW...

OK. I feel like we're beating around the wrong bush here.

I don't think that the data compression codec you're using has anything to do with the quality of your master. If it was encoded with either the Lame or Fraunhofer codec (the two standards you get everywhere, Lame being the most common) from the stereo output of your DAW, it should be pretty damn close to the original mix. It takes very keen ears to tell the difference between a 320kbps MP3 and a WAV, imo.

There are other data compression codecs like MP3 Pro, but these usually operate at much lower bit-rates, like 96kbps, max.

You also said that you haven't experienced this on other tracks. Were they electronic tracks? What is the genre of the track you're having trouble with currently?

My suspicion is that the problem lies in the mix. Quality in electronic music comes from careful selection of sounds, the arrangement, and ultimately the mix.

Also, why are you concerned with the size of the files?

Cheers :)

thanks Mo Facta

Yes we're talking electronic & dance mostly. The only reason i'm questionning the file size is beacause a lot of the "big" tunes/labels' tracks are much bigger file size so was jus thinkin that i'm maybe missing a trick which can give me better quality sound...Maybe i could send you a track for your evaluation?
Thanks,
Roger.

File size? a 5 minute 320k cbr mp3 file will be the same size regardless of the codec you use. I think you are focusing on something totally asinine here.
