why in the hell does it take 5 to 10 days for them to aprove a photo or mp3 before it can be available on their site?

i read that the platinum and gold package is a lot better, but 5-10 days jesus christ.

that takes the fun out of having a site if you have to wait forever for it to be (accepted) and then available. if something is wrong with your file you have to go through the prcess again.

is it just taking for ever because i just registered, and after my account, and initial submission of material is approved, i will be able to get instant results? i'm a progressive customer i'm used to instant results.:D

I was considering putting some tunes up on that site. I'm reconsidering now. Thanks for the heads up.

The silver lining: this kind of thing boosts traffic at Nowhereradio immeasurably.

And what about the fact that everyone has to fill in their name, e-mailadress blahblahblah just to download/stream a simple song?

5-10 days??
Hey, then you are doing way better than I used to do on there. It would take my stuff over 2 weeks before they would post it. They suck the big Jimmy Dean!!!

I pay for their B2B hosting service and like it a lot.

Their free service is intentionally crippled.

There are places out there other than mp3.com where you can post, but I noticed that although you may get quicker responses to those issues, they tend to crash alot. So either you have to wait to get your song approved or deal with the site only being available every now and then. Not to mention interrupted streams. I don't mind mp3.com. It sucks to have to wait that long but I think it's better than the alterative.

thanks

thanks for the replies. i bet mp3.com has a lot of accounts that people don't use after they find out what the hell they have to go through. nowhere radio is the victorious one right now. i just registered at soundclick also. slackmaster i'm happy you are enjoying it man, i'm not ready to invest any money into a site yet. i guess in this case you get what you pay for, and since i paid nothing i got nothing.

i'm finding out that soundclick is one of those sites with the server being down often.

Hey, Slack - what do you pay, and what do you get at mp3.com? Why is it worth paying?

Dobro, to use the service I use you already need a website...thus it's not "worth it" in my opinion. I pay $5 a month for 50MB of mp3 space. It would be better to just pay $10 a month for a good web host where you'll get way more space and control.

I'm still running my webserver out of my house though, hence I use the MP3.COM service (my DSL isn't really fast enough to host mp3's well).

It's really the only service that MP3.COM does right, IMO. Very good reliability and speed....but like I said...if you're going to pay $5, you might as well pay $10.
