.mov files with cakewalk

I have been facing continuous problems with tinserting audio data from .mov video files.
either the system shows unrecognised file format or it hangs after importing audio data.
Help!!!!!!!!!!

Do you normally use Media Player to view .mov files - and/or do you have QuickTime installed?

Also check for the latest versions of audio codecs in your multimedia setup (Control Panel)

I'd get rid of QuickTime completely and reinstall Microsoft DirectX Media/Media Player with the latest versions.
This will install all the required codecs and media services on your PC to view .mov, .avi, .mpeg and many more.
