I have a pair of dynaudio bm5's in my new control room set up, but I need to elevate them approx 9 1/2 inches. I'm wondering the most effective way I can do this without sound carrying through the floor, using materals I already posses. I have lots of 703, deflection and absorbsion foam. none of it is rigid enough on it's own to hold the monitors steady. I was thinking of making a box with plywood and 2x4's, stuffing it with 703, and tying to place the speakers on the foam under that pedestal. Mounting them on the wall and on stands from the floor is not an option due to the wall and desk. What should I do?
