MOTU..Cubase..Cakewalk..Protools etc..which one to buy??

Greetings all..we are new to this forum and if this has been covered before, please let us know. We are setting up our computer-based studio soon and have some questions about what is best(all opinions welcome)...we will be running the software on the 600Mhz imac loaded with the maximum amount of memory and 40gb hard drive...this computer will be totally dedicated to recording,mixing,mastering etc.
1)what software do you mac users like and why; and is there any place (online or otherwise) that we could preview it?
2)recommendations for decent monitors and samplers?

Welcome to the forum. Most of the software makers have demos, simply go to their website, download, and play away!
I personally use SONAR, not available on Mac.

Monitors and Samplers? Lots of answers. Try the search button and check out some of the older threads, it has been covered a lot. Good Luck.
