Hey all,
Just picked up a MOTU 896 on eBay for $550 (thought that wasn't too bad a deal) in excellent shape. It's the original 896 not the HD and I'm relatively pleased with the convertors, although I'm wondering what the best route would be to maybe clear the sound up a bit. I'm thinking of getting a word clock generator (lucid, etc.), or external convertor boxes.
I'm just getting to the point where my studio is getting better, and haven't played much with word clocks, etc. Would a decent word clock generator help in improving the sonic quality of the MOTU convertors? By what I've read, it seems it would help, so maybe I'll just ask what generators you'd recommend.
Also, anyone care to share experiences with their 896?
