The firewire ports on my MOTU 828 MKII are not working anymore.I did everything from reinstall the drivers, try with different cables to different computers and the device is recognized by any other computer so it is the FireWire port because the unit turns on and receive the signal.
Does anyone knows where to replace them? I live in Houston,TX

Can you say that again as it does not make sense?

Is it or is it not being recognised by any other computer? I doubt it is the firewire ports, more likely a coms issue with the firewire, why would you think it's a port problem, did it get a spike or something?

Alan.

Have a google man, I've read about this happening before.

People seem to think the ports break, as in the physical metal connectors.
From what i remember there's usually much more to it than that.

I think someone on GS posted how much motu were charging to replace the FW chip etc.

Have you tried all the resets? There's a master reset in the motu settings, and I've read somewhere about completely unplugging the unit (mains and firewire), switching to 110v (or 240 if you're already on 110), then SWITCHING BACK, then plugging in and powering on.

I had to do this before for a different problem but these things are always worth trying.
