when the motu box is powered up should there be a sort of transformer hum coming from it(not really loud but noiticeable if you listen),or should it be dead silent ?
also has anybody rerturned any stuff to motu and how long did it take to get back ?

I returned an 8Pre to MOTU. We played phone tag a couple of times, but since it was brand new, I gave them a credit card number, they shipped me a replacement unit, I put the broken one (broken ADAT optical jack cover) in the box and shipped it to them. So it took -1 days to get it back.

My 8Pres do hum a little. You can hear it slightly if you're within two or three feet. If it were loud enough to be annoying, I'd probably take it apart and put in isolator bolts on the transformer mounting, but it isn't annoying enough to be worth my time.
