In the quest of getting a "higher end" but still all digital studio...this is kind of where I am at right now.
I havn't been able to get a lot of reviews on the new motu 2408mk3 (i think it's pretty new?). I am wondering how the A/D conversion in this unit is?
Actually, I am wondering if that matters. Here is something I was thinking about....if you got the Radar24, for it's sound quality, A/D quality...ran all of your mic pres into that, so you tracked everything to your Radar24. Then you ran digitally into the MOTU system, which would interface it with your computer for mixing...
Would that work? Seems like it would to my simple mind...and would be pretty sweet...
Or, with really any soundcard you were using, that had a good digital input.
So the weak link then would be your DSP stuff, when doing EQ/volume adjustments. If only there was a way you could step that up to a "pro" level, for under 3,000 or so....hmmm..
But, does it seem like I have a grasp on how a Radar/Motu system would work out?
