MOTU 2408 MKII question

I just had my place re-painted, so I had to unplug everything
(the outlets that is, that everything is connected too)

anyway, I hadnt booted up my system for like 2 wks, so when I did yesterday the PCI-324 message came on, I'm sure youve seen it:

"cannot initialize communications check your network configuration and make sure TCP/IP is properly installed etc. etc, you know"

anway, would it be wise just to re-install the 2408 disc, I mean I never touched anything previous to unplugging it, and nothing has been changed, it's been the same for 4 years, but every time I boot up it gives me that prompt, plus I cant even get into CUBASE.

My MIDI XT is booting fine, just not the 2408
(then again I better make sure the XT is o.k.)

ANY IDEAS,

Hi MS,

Did you try reseating the pci card? Or maybe the firewire
cable is not connected properly? Just trying to help!

thanks for the theory, but in detail what happened was , I had no
ASIO drivers installed. "long story short"

they had to paint my place, I had to unplug everything, I plugged it back, everything else worked except the MOTU 2408 - weird.

Anyway I un-installed it, took out the PCI-324 card, re-installed the software, turn computer off, put PCI-324 back in, turn on,
check drive to see if the "ASIO drv." installed.

Make initial setting and I'm up and running, (after 3 hours of swearing, hitting chairs, and demonic chants of hatred for the software not working THE FIRST GO ROUND).

But all is well now, just thought you'd like to know --just in case
someone else has this problem --

Yer scarin' me man. I'm getting ready to do a little rearranging in the studio which will entail unplugging the MOTU and computer for a week or so. Hmmmmm........

Dont mean to scare you bro!, but it was my "REALITY" I honestly did not think it would harm anything, (let me rephrase that)

It DID NOT harm anything it just didnt allow the ASIO drivers to
(some weird reason) not to BOOT (REALLY F&*#N weird)

but you should be alright, HONESTLY, if it does go bad -- WHICH I REALLY REALLY DOUBT, just RE-INSTALL it ----
