hey guys I recently bought AUDIOPHILE 2496 and i installed it on my WIN XP system.. Now i am not sure if I should disable the SOUndCARD that is on my motherboard(the one that comes built in the motherboards) or can i just leave it working? Does it cause problems when recording audio and other production stuff?? Will 2 soundcards have problems together? if I have to disable the motherboard sound card then where can i do so? in SYSTem/DeviceMANAGER/SOUNDS and blah blah i check DISABle on the other soundcard?

I really am confused...I HATE that MOTHERBOARDS come with SOUNDCARDS!!!!

If you don't have any driver conflicts (which you shouldn't with XP), then you're fine to just leave it in. I have mine enabled with my C-Port with no problems (Win2k though). You'll probably need to set the Audiophile as your default card, and the other one just won't get used.

I wouldn't try to use it as another set of inputs though - if you do, you'll probably run into sync issues.

If, for some reason, you need to disable it, there's usually a jumper on the motherboard that disables the onboard audio.

I had to disable my soundcard that was built into my motherboard, and did so by going to bios and disenabling it there.
