motherboard advice

im planning on getting a new athalon xp system to run an omni studio and probably some software synths. does anyone have advice on which motherboard to get, or what specifications i should look for? it would be much appreciated. thanks.

I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer of the omni and seeing which motherboards they recommend. Do a bit of research, write down the chipsets that each motherboard uses. Email the manufacturer of your soundcard, hopefully they can provide some insight.

Motherboards to check out are ASUS, Microstar, ABIT. Finding the chipset that will work with the Omni is your main concern.

Examples of chipsets to give you an idea of what your looking for, KT133, AMD 751, etc.
