Hello again-
If you enjoyed the version of She's Leaving Home by my friends and I a few months back, then I think you'll enjoy some more unique arrangements of Beatles' Sgt. Pepper songs that I've just posted to my website. These mp3's are from a CD called "It's Our Sgt. Pepper", which is a re-interpretation of Pepper songs by a group of SF bay area musicians who, for this CD, are billed as The Silly People Run Around.

So....anyone check these mp3's out yet?
Anyone?
I'll think they're all worth a listen, with the reworked "Lucy in the Sky" being a particular treat...

Help from me friends: Nice job.
Getting Better: Stood on its own but not against
that funky original.
Both of these had the vocals a little harsh.
Ask Ed how to fix that.
Lucy: Ain't enough acid I could take to admit that
within the caliber of the above stuff. Man- what
were you thinking with that Japanese cartoon vocal?
Alvin and company wouldn't get involved with this.
Theodore and Simon. Fuck off! Dave? You too!!!!
Production-wise it beat the other two. :)
Within you Without You: Yeah. That worked.
I SMELL POD!!!!
Tell me if I'm wrong. I need to know.
The vocals were recorded better here than in the
other tunes. Got just a little raspy toward the end
like the first two I griped about but was better
toward the beginning. Does that make sense?
I think I already reviewed She's Leaving Home and
still love it as I did then.

Thanks for the feedback-
First off- no POD was used on any of these tracks; on Within you, I believe that was '52 RI Tele through a'65 RI Twin Reverb, using some sort of stomp box- possibly a Line 6 distortion modeler. Recorded onto a Tascam 688 8 track using an SM57. If you really want specifics, I'll check with Rich.

Surprised you didn't like Katie's vocal on Lucy; that song is currently my favorite from the album! Ah well, to each his own...

Thanks again,
Bryan

Anyone else?

Rarely do I disagree with doc, he's got ears that hear...but I loved "Lucy", vocals et al.....These arrangements are sweet sweet..."Within" too.....you get a great sound too.....I don't think I've ever heard Beatles covers done better (I think I said that to some of your stuff months ago) than you people do....gibs
