Hey, im looking for the best soundcard for the money...as of now m-audios delta 66 is looking the best so far...all i've heard is good reviews from people on this thing...I know the RME stuff is ten times better (if i had 1000 bux) but i mean ya. So heres the question...What is the most professional and best sounding soundcard i could get for under 300 bux? (and yes it must have s/pdif...im planning on hooking up a mixer to is as well.)

I don't have one of the M-Audio cards, but from what comments I've seen you'd be hard-pressed to find better within the price range you have... Steve

Take a look at Echo Mia ($199). Spdif, 1/4" in and outs, virtual outs and more. Also very well reviewed in the magazines (that's why I bought it.)

I'm running a Mia and an SBLive in my PC and it's working really well.

M-audio is a great product for the money...budget minded.
RME is excellent but doesn't always work with all software.
What software are you using ? Some software is optimized for certain cards. Do some research to find out what card performs best with your software.

ya

thanks guys, ya i have a very small budget but hey im just getting started and id rather start small that huge n then not know what to do with all this expensive gear. as of now i know the delta 66 is pretty good for the money......ive realized the more professional stuff is outta range.......now my small dillemma is this.....im caught between the layla 24/96 and the delta 1010 (both so beautiful)...both basically the same with some minor differences (ive heard the layla has a big problem for resampling at 44-45) with ebay in mind im probably gonna save up a little more and go for these higher end products. in your opinion what performs/sounds better outta the layla and 1010? reviews tell me theyre both rad but no ones compares them against each other...anyone have any opinions on the matter?
