First, thanks for all the good info I read here!

Since my last posts, I have purchased SONAR software and learned most of the basics of mixing.

Now, a question about .wav files. If I import a .wav file onto track 1, how or can I import another .wav file and append it at the end of the the first .wav file on track 1? I need to do this 4 times so that I have 4 .wav files imported onto track 1, so that when I play the track 1, the 4 .wav files will be played one after the other until all 4 .wav files have been played?

I need to do this so that I can mix all 4 songs the exact same way, since all 4 songs are related to each other (a flamenco sevillanas thing) and must be played one after the other, and since I did not record them all in one setting, but 4 different recording sessions (hence 4 .wav files)!

Another question. I have recorded and mixed 14 different .wav files and soon I want to put them to a CD. How do I make sure that all 14 songs have the same "volume" before I record to CD so that the listener will not have to be adjusting the volume on their CD player?

I tried to make sure that I used the same volume settings in SONAR for all the songs, but I want to be sure that I am doing this right.

Your pro advice would really help...

When you import audio into Sonar, the imported wave is postioned starting from wherever your cursor is positioned. Therefore to accomplish what you want to do, simply place the cursor at the beginning of the track and File -> Import the first wave. Then put the cursor at the end of the first wave and repeat the process for the second wave, and so on until you have all 4 waves on your track.

Thanks, dachay2tnr for the response! I will try that tonight. And what you said makes sense now that I think about it.

I tried to do this once but during playback, all the songs were playing togeather at once, making an undistinguishable noise! ;>)

Thanks again,

Merle

I'm guessing this was because you left the cursor in the same postiion when you imported each wave. In that case I imagine Sonar would simply overlay each succesive wave on top of the previous - resulting in simultaneous playback of all 4 waves. You need to place the cursor where you want each wave to begin.
