I think it was specifically designed for laying on its back as the feet are there in just the right places to accommodate it and the jack pack on the the back is also angled to facilitate laying on its back too! Besides, it looks cooler that way and keeps it out of the sound path of my speakers.
The stand is a home made one I built to accommodate the deck at the angle I wanted and to have room underneath for the dbx units.
The Mixers are TASCAM M312B's. There are two of them cascaded together to make one big mixer!
