Those of you who have followed my glacial progress on my home studio will see in the enclosed pics that I am actually making some progress.

The Studio (under construc) 3 - here's the view of the bunker from the northwest. Note the two bigass fixed glass windows. What these panes will do in terms of causing nasty reflections will be counterbalanced by giving me inspiring views of the forest and of feuding family members.

The Studio (under construc) 1 - here's a view of the entry way to the left (sans second double doors) with the loft above. The loft will feature every ammenity needed to weather spousal ostracism (bed, TV, cold beers, etc...). Note the roof joists that I will need to insulate and then cover to create the generous cathedral ceiling.

The Studio (under construc) 2 - here's a view from the entryway, under the loft. Not a lot to see here other than darling assistant engineer and windows to outer world.

Toddy on Huge - here's me about to fall off scaffolding next to the facility.

The building is sand-filled cinderblock with the first coat of stucco, which will be used on all internal and external walls. The interior dimensions are 14.5' X 21.5' X 10' with cathedral ceiling going from the 10' up to 14'.

Looking good.

Comment: your construction foreperson is adorable.

Question: I like the loft space. I'd probably put my control room up there. But thats me.

Any thoughts on ceiling system over joists?

Soundproofing is not critical, but acoustic sweetness is. I haven't committed to a ceiling approach, but I'm thinking of:

1) Sealing all joist cracks religiously
2) Putting in standard insultion
3) Throwing up sheetrock
4) Hearing how she sounds
5) Treating wierdnesses

Maaaate - it's looking really nice - great work.
There is lottsa hard work in all that construction, my congrats :)

cheers
John
