More Chipset Questions

These threads on chipsets got me wondering what chipset I have.. Quite a few months ago I put together an ecs L4vxa2 mb with 2g intel cpu I used the onboard audio for a lot of live shows but have since disabled the onboard audio and installed a delta44. The chipset on this mb is

Here is the question... Under audio it says 6 channel audio Does this mean with the right audio board it has 6 channel in capabilties? (or is that just outputs for souround sound) Curiosity killed the kitty.....

No, the 6 channels will be for mic in, line in, and CD in or something like that, but you can't use more 2 (stereo) channels at once

Yup thats sort of how I figured but it sure made me wonder for awhile...
