More Bouncing Q's..

Ok, thanks to everyone for the tremendous help already, but I've ran into another question and thought I'd ask here first before experimenting a bit. I'm recording on the Tascam 388 and getting ready to bounce tracks down to two tracks. My question is do my EQ settings stay the same when I bounce down? Say I have treble turned all the way up to the max on track 8, and I'm bouncing track 8 to track 2, and track 2's treble setting is straight up(normal), will track 8's treble go back to normal when it goes to track 2, or will it keep the same sound from track 8(treble to the max) and if I were to then adjust the treble on track 2 would it boost it even More? Thanks.

Since in your scenario Track 8 is being bounced to Track 2, the EQ applied to the playback of Track 8 will dub down to Track 2, but Channel 2's EQ won't have an effect.

The signal path in your scenario is Track 8 off tape, thru Channel 8, to Pgm Buss 2, to tape Track 2.

The internal bounce in the 388 would go:
Source-Tape-track>Channel>Buss>Dest-Tape-track.
 
Track 2 will retain the eq boost from 8 after the bounce, at which point you can raise track 2's treble if you need even more highs. If that's still not enough, you might want to step up to 15ips. ;)

I'd like to add one other thing- maybe this is obvious, but if you need to boost the treble, especially if it's in a major way, it's usually a good idea to do it before the signal hits tape. If you're turning the high eq all the way up before the bounce and then even more after you're probably getting about three times as much tape hiss as you have to :eek:
