Smokin. Love the fiddle, tell him kudos from another type of "fiddler".
Mix sounds fine for live. Its just a whole lotta fun. My only musical suggestion would be for them to play it faster, it would probably be easier for the fiddler to do the shuffle bowing. Or maybe not. Fun stuff, good listen.
Good job Treeline - I've played rhythm behind this tune at many a gig. And we always get the largest number of dancers on the floor when it's played. We usually save it for later in the night - for the same reason as you mention on the take . We even speed it up towards the end until its a frenzy...Good recording - this will make a great addition to your live album...
Now this is some good stuff! agreed with davidk, live recording sounds pretty darn good. and that fiddler has got some damn good chops. nice tight groove! vocal harmonies are awesome. Ido, I think a tempo shift near the end would sound stellar!
great job! sounds like the crowd liked it also!
three thumbs up!
liked it quite a bit... the quote from peter and the wolf was cute... as to the tempo discussion... one problem i usually have with cuts of this is the tendency to play it too damn fast... and i dig speed alright in proper context... it just doesnt swing right too fast on this... kinda like the way people play ragtime stuff... most people wouldn't recognize joplin played at the tempo he specified and it swings Much harder... YMMV...
