Hi,
I finally decided to just do the whole thing myself. And I already have most of the tools. My question is about monitors, because that is a major missing piece. Here's my setup:
Tascam 424mkIII
SM57
Tascam US122 (hooked up through a USB)
PC (here's where I give my computer unsavy-ness away) 02.80GHZ, 512MB, 160GB
Cool Edit Pro
Could this possible be my soundcard: Realtek AC'97
I'm recording all tracks to the Tascam, sending them through the US122 to cool edit pro, syncing up the tracks, adding a bit of reverb and whatever else is needed, mixing through headphones (ahhhhrgh). Obviously I need to get some monitors for this. Can I plug these into my computer?
It's a silly question, I know. But I'm only advancing techicallogically b/c I have to in order to improve my sound. Do I need an amp? I do not have anything external to plug the speakers into. With the 424, I don't really feel I need a mixer. I do spacey folk music and use mostly acoustic guitar/vocals, some electric, some keyboard. I have a million other questions, but I will do with just this one for now.
Thanks, and please go easy on me!!!
