MONITORS... Which??

We are wondering which monitors are better........ the new Alesis M1 Mk2 or the Event 20/20??? Need A RESPONSE ASAP.......... THANKS TO ALL.
 
Specifically between those 2 only - I would choose the Events...

Probably the Events, but why limit yourself to just Alesis and Events?
 
Price VS quality......... Event is hands down the best, so I have heard and read NUMEROUS times..... Recently, someone asked me about the brand new Alesis because they supposedly GREATLY improved them...... thats why.
 
Event's, The Best? Not really. I think you should talk to Sjoko2 about the JBL LSR25 monitors. They are only $500 and will give a better stereo imaging effects then the Events or Alesis.
 
Alesis' arent in the ballpark with the JBL's.....the 20/20's are very good......

its best to just take a pair home and listen to them and decide for yourself...if this isnt possible, do yourself a favor and look into the JBL's....

of course i've sat in a studio that charges a kidney per hour and they have NS10s as their monitors.... what does this say?;)
 
NS-10s are history, as Yamaha is no longer making them. Therefore not very relevant to the question, "Which monitors should I buy?" I will not argue that they are an "Industry Standard". Engineers seem to have a love/hate relationship with them. They can be found in use at all levels, from HomeRec on up to top $. Should EnVISION buy them? NO! Just because they are an "Industry Standard" does not make them the right choice. The only reasons I could see for wanting to try and find some NS10s used would be if 1) your ears are trained to them or 2) you expect to have others using your equipment that are used to them. Big studios will continue to have them around (until the replacement parts supplies dry up), 'cause everyone knows them, they are a "common ground" point of reference.

do i have them? nope, do i have one of the mentioned above... just pulling your leg. Would i recommend any of the above... hmmm, i dunno.

I saw your response as a "leg pull", but it was also a valid question that might lead to a follow-up question from someone who did not know about NS-10s.

OK OK............ I get the jist........ JBL is the bomb apparantly... BUT we have purchased the EVENTS anyway( we were running out of time)...... lol............. maybe we will upgrade after a few months...... but I am very satisfied at this point with the EVENTS....... AND for 275$ It can't be beat....... I guess the concensus is that ALESIS sucks for monitors........ but we bought an Alesis power amp....... I hope that is good!! We will see, if not I will take that shit back!... Thanks Guys....
 
Thank God you didnt get the Alesis'.....I burned a few candles for you......

anywho, Alesis makes a pretty decent amp....I tested a RA100 and it did really good, but I got a much better deal on a Hafler TA1100.....I think you did good with your choices and I think youll enjoy them both.....
