As the title of this thread indicates, I'm having a problem with my monitors (powered monitors) popping when I shut them down. I'm doing it correctly and in the proper sequence, so that isn't the problem. But I'm wondering if maybe there's something else that I've overlooked. Its only started happening fairly recently. Is there something I should know here guys?

One thing I know is If they pop instantly your power caps are either going out or they were inadequate in the first place.

Mine pop too but about a minute after I turn off the switch. Which means the amp builder used the right stuff.

What the hell are power caps? Can I change them or something? Thanks Darrin!

Hey Mark, I have the 20/20bas and they have done that since day one. You have the Tria series, right? I've already replaced one tweeter and woofer within a year...kinda sux.

Yeah, I have the Trias. You're shitting me right? Man, that sucks. I'll have to write to them to see what they say about it. I'd like to think I won't have to keep replacing speakers. Not to mention its just plain annoying.

My speakers were popping major yesterday at around 1 - 3 pm, when I turned the poweramp off.

Today they are fine. Coincidence?

Sun storm, reversed poles, wrong hertz on the line?

No?

my monitors would pop if I don't turn down my mixer's level before turning them off.

Emeric: I was hoping that atmospheric conditions weren't a factor! :)

Leeking: As I said, I'm not doing anything stupid, just powering down the way I'm supposed to. Thanks for replying though.
