I basically just have shitty pc speakers right now and its letting the whole chain of equipment down.

But i want a speaker/monitor that i can just use 24/7 ...when im just chillin playing music as well as for when im recording/mixing.

So im thinking maybe it'd be better off just to get some nice speakers coz it won't matter if their both turned on 24/7.

Do you guys use your monitors for everyday surfing the net and listening to music and etc?

Let me know.

It never hurts if you use your monitors all the time. It really helps because you get to know them more.

They're just like any other speakers. Also, some will take a good many hours of usage to "break in", I think I've heard ones with kevlar cones are an example.

Whatever speakers you use, either reference studio monitors or audiophile loudspeakers, you should listen to them as much as you can at any and every opportunity.

You can NEVER be *too* familiar with your monitoring and working space.

I don't know about surfing the net and such, but I don't see the problem in having speakers running 24/7. I work 3 days straight at times and no harm whatsoever.

You should concern yourself more with the EQ response or in the event that you can't afford the pro quality ones, just get to know your speakers well enough.
