HI,
I'm new to the board, I got a question regarding monitors for mixing/mastering, what I would like to do is have 2 sections of our studio one for mastering and one for actual music production, the mastering section would consist of:
TC Electronics Finalizer Express
Tascam DA-20MKII dat recorder
Akai DR-4D v.4
Yamaha 01v digital mixer

I would like to get some info on a good pair of monitors to use along with the above setup? We currently dont have a second pair of monitors, the problems here is, I dont want to spend alot of money "really I know the mackies sounds great!" :) and I dont want a pair of ns10's driving me nuts! so some place in the middle? what I was thinking is maybe monitor two's or tannoy reveal's any other suggestions would be great, Oh! and I'm looking for bottom (bass) in monitors aswell.

Thanx alot for your time!

I've have been reading thru the board and its great, really informative! :)

Just one question ....

Aren't 'Monitor 2' the biggest monitors of the range ? Are they not nearfield monitors ?

.. ok .. maybe 2 questions ..

I have Tannoys NFM 8's, and the studio I worked for had the big Tannoys. I love Tannoys. They rock. They are tight, crispy and highly accurate across the frequency range, and also have excellent consistency across the dynamic range. Just an opinion. =)
