Hello. I compose and arrange "classical" style music, especially for solo voice and small ensembles. I am using SONOR 3, winXP, Audiophile 2496 soundcard.
I would like to buy some near-field active monitors. The room I am using is fairly small.
I have been reading about WHARFEDALE 8.2A monitors (and that user deepwater is a dealer). Would you recommend the wharfedale's for this use?
How do you feel about Behringers 2031's? Others???
I would like to keep the price below $300.00.

Thanks!

If you are mixing primarily classical style music, monitors are absolutely critical. If your budget is maxed out that low, than the Wharfdales will be fine (most likely). Personally I am not a Genelec fan, but genies seem to really be the monitor of choice in the classical domain. It may be wroth your while to do whatever you can to get your hands on a pair. There are plenty of used ones out there:)
