Which monitors are DP-02 users using?

Its a little confusing as the line-out connectors on the DP-02 are RCA whereas many monitors have TRS or XLR connections.

In fact there is only a single set of L/R Line-Outs. Does this mean only one speaker can be hooked up?

Any input appreciated.

Thanks, Arcaxis.

What puzzled me was the fact that most of the RCA cables I've come across are dual cables, ie. one white and one red plug at each end.

You'll probably have to modify/make your own cable. You can split a dual RCA cable. If it has a plastic blob to stop it splitting, very carefully split it with a craft knife so you don't cut the wires. Then you can pull the two sides apart down the length.

Hosa makes a stereo cable with 1/4" on one end and RCA on the other. I was able to pull mine partially apart without cutting.

OK, but I'm still puzzled and I'm gonna sound like a total ignoramus - any powered speakers that I've seen in photos have a pic of the back of a speaker with both R and L RCA inputs.

Am I to understand that the cables plug into just one of the speakers which is in turn connected to the other speaker?

Thats kinda what I thought might be the case. Thanks so much for your input, Arcaxis.

Is there any disadvantage to this type of speaker set-up compared to the separate speaker set-up?

The designs that have the amp in one speaker and a passive satellite tend to be cheaper and have less cables but they aren't as good for critical mixing because there is a greater chance the speakers won't have identical output and tone.

OK, next question.

I've gone ahead and ordered a pair of these Edirols.

Would it be better to connect the digital out on the unit to the digital in on the speaker, rather than the analog connection?

What type of cable do I use for the digital connection?

Hmmm, as it happens I've been having a little trouble with one of the input controls being intermittent. If I switch back from the guitar switch to the lin/mic I sometimes have to turn the unit off and back on before Input A will work.

Mine is an ex-display model. I wonder if I'm experiencing the same or a similar problem to what you had with yours.
