Yo CONFIGTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT:]
sUGGEST that you do different parts when you're recording, it's called OVERDUBBING.
Like, I like to get the drums and chords down since I'm the only performer, unless working with a canary or some other client.
When the drums and chords are set, [you can use all the FX you want recording because it doesn't go onto the disc; you can hear it in the headset, but it's added in the final mix,] then add bass on a separate track; then, horns, then, whatever to fill up your eight tracks if that's what you want. Suggest you don't bounce; if you do bounce, then you lose control of EQ and FX for the instruments you bounce; you can only tweak the track and if you have three instuments on one track, they cannot be tweaked; only the track can be tweaked and what you what up high on EQ you may want low for the other instrument or vocal or whatever.
If you want to do all eight tracks at once, you need eight sets of headphones and a relay box with controls for the headsets and then you can tweak each track as you want but you can only use two FX boxes on the MD-8 but that's enough FX for anyone.
Suggest you do overdubbing; it's easy and effective and you can really tweak and control.
