Hey guys. I'm recording bass guitar this week and I'm having trouble with monitor volume. When recording the bassist has a hard time hearing the guitar (I do to), but after recording stops and I play back the volume is through the rook loud. I crank up the preamp as loud as I can without clipping and the output on the pre is turned up all the way, and the monitor volume is turned up all the way as well is the headphone volume. why is the playback so loud but not the monitoring?
I'm using a MOTU 828MKII with SX on a 3ghz Dell PC. Monitoring through headphones (sonys) for recording and I have a set of M-Audio BX5's for refrence/rough mixing as well.
Any suggestions? I have another session tonight!
Also another question. I want to use Waves Rverb as a send effect so that the artist can hear what they are recording with reverb added, and I have used the f6 key and added Rverb as a effect and it is turned on and active but the artist cannot hear the reverb in the phones. what am I doing wrong here?
