For mixing my next recording I plan to use a bunch of different listening systems for monitors (Event 20/20s w/ power amp, Sony boombox w/ subwoofer, computer speakers, a big house stereo and possibly even a small P.A.). I need a way to switch between all the systems instantly, so I don't need to take time to repatch everything.
Should I patch the main stereo outs into my mackie 24.4 vlz mixer and assign the signals to different busses, or would that color the sound too much? I'm not trying to acheive a perfectly flat monitoring system, but to have the ability to hear the mix on systems that the recording will most likely be played on, And I know that most people wont be running the CD through a mackie mixer.
Is there some type of inexpensive switching system that would work well for this or should I just use my mixer?
