Monitor speakers clipping

Just installed Motif ES-8, connected it to Tascam 07--Truth speakers connected to line outs. I have adjusted levels every which way on every device, but not all Motif sounds coming through with clarity, ie, clipping out sooner than expected considering the volume level/speaker specs.

Anyone can tell me what to do? Is it the Tascam 07 simply not keeping up with the input/output impedance? Any kind help would be appreciated--

The 07 is almost surely operating at the -10dBV gain structure - are you running the Motif at +4dBu? This would definitely cause the symptoms you describe......)
 
Not sure what dB Motif is at-- however, no clipping when connected directly to the Truth speakers. Appears something with the 07-- What do you know about the Korg 1600 CDRW mixer?
