I am new to this whole pa stuff. My question is this. For a live set up, I have two JBL eon powered speakers we are using as monitors. My mixer (yamaha mg 16/4) has two aux send inputs, one being for the monitor mix, and one for the effects if I am not mistaken. How would I go about connceting both powered speakers, each with their own output section to only one input in the mixer?. I talked briefly to someone about this and they told me I would have to connect speaker to speaker, then one speaker to the mixer and he said it would work. Does this sound correct and how do you do it? The last time I set it up at a show, we ended up ising the CR out section to use as our monitor set up because it had two seperate inputs; however, I didnt like this very mich becasue we got the main mix all the time, and we couldnt chose how much we wanted from each channel. I know its a stupid question and I should know this but if someone could help me it would be greatly appreciated

I have 2 Eons and they have a handy feature that lets you plug them together using a microphone cord, so that part of the problem is solved.

As far as getting out of your Yamaha MG mixer, the send you should use is the one that's prefader. That's the one labled 'aux', as you mentioned. 'Effects' is post fader, and means that any changes you make to the house mix will also change the monitor mix --- which is something mighty undesirable.

The 1/4" out from the Aux send is unbalanced, so go to Radio Shack and get a transformer for a mic cord with a 1/4" plug on the end. They also have them with female 1/4" inputs, and if all they have is one of those just run a short 1/4" instrument cable from the Aux send into the female jack.
