Monitor RF?

If I get to close to my computer monitor with a mic or electric guitar during a recording take, I am picking up a hum. Is this a 50 - 60 khz frequency? If I turn off the monitor the hum goes away. Also bleeds into my tape deck when I drop spec projects on cassette. I plan on getting some distance between musician and controls, after a headphone fix, and try to get them to another room in the house. But is there software that can remove this hum from my exsisting takes.wav? I heard a guy mention Raygun? Said this software can strip this frequency out.

I've never heard of this Raygun software, but I doubt it would work very well. If it's just a notch filter it's bound to remove other important frequencies as well. Your best solution would be to either move further away from the monitor until the hum goes away, or with a bit of pre-roll before your track you can hit record, then shut the monitor off.

Good advice, don't try to get rid of the hum just get away from the monitor.
