A friend gve me a pair of JBL Pro 111 desktop speakers. They rate at 10-100 watts @ 4 ohms.
I don't know anything about monitors and don't know if they are good or bad.
They are passive so I need to get a amp to power them, which I also don't know anything about. As of late I have only been using headphones, but don't want to anymore. Does anyone know of a good cheap amp to power up these or are these not worth it or I should buy a new pair of powered monitors. I read a thread that said the rokit rp-5 at $229 are decent. Any ideas appreciated. thanks

Can't get a hold of some stereo receiver or something to hook up just to try them out on?
