Hi all, first time posting here, so apologies if this has been covered before!

I've got a pair of Mackie S8 Monitors and when I pan anything below 50hz to my RH speaker, I get some resonance from it and a loss of low end frequencies. I've already tried swapping it around to LH but still no luck! Can anyone point out the problem with it?

Those are pretty old speakers ... Have you played with the low frequency boost switches on the back? 'Resonance' to me means a certain frequency is louder, but then you say you have a 'loss of low end'?

Yeah mate. Got them all set to 0 and I've tried changing the low frequencies to 4 but not hearing the drastic change like you get on the working monitor. I'll give you an example of the sound- I noticed it when I made a kick drum... The speaker I'm having problems with comes out really tinny, almost like the highs are boosted almost and the lows are reduced. You're right they are only, but they were great back in their day! Should age really matter?

Time to get some new monitors or get those fixed. First try physically swapping left and right to make sure if it's not something else in your interface or whatever you're using to drive your monitors.

You could have something fried in the amps, crossover or even blown a woofer.
