Hi folks,
I am close to buying better monitors for studio, but I have a question about placement. My current monitors are basically bookend speakers that I mounted to the wall in the corner. My computer monitor is right between them. I put them on the wall at the best height for my ears to get the truest sound out of them I could. Keep in mind this is a budget studio.
So now I'm looking at a decent deal on some unpowered Event monitors But if I can avoid it, I don't want to go through the ordeal of mounting them on brackets, getting them level, and mounted on the wall. I'm hoping to move in the next year, so I I'd rather wait to get to my new house to mount anything permanently, if I have to at all.
My concern is the freq's carrying through the surface of whatever it is sitting on. I think they make pedestals to put speakers on. Do they work well? Or is there something else I can set them on? Am I not thinking right about this?
Any ideas or pointers in the right direction are appreciated. Thanks!
