I've got a Nanoverb, its the best thing to have in a budget studio. The sound quality is clean and nice. However if you are using it your guitar setup, its a bit clumsy .. Better if you can have your hands on the Lexicon of course !

As for the Monitor One. I hear good things about them and yet I don't hear good things about them. but you should let your ear do the deciding. I've got the Point 7 and I like them a lot. It is suppose to be modelled very closely to the Monitor One. I've never heard the Monitor One so I cannot give you any comparison. Monitor speakers a pretty subjective thing ... BTW Yamaha NS10 monitors became an industry standard and a lot of people still do not know why ! :-)

Also do a search on 'monitor' on this site , I'm sure Dragon and the guys have done 'talk' about their Tannoys, Events, Yamaha monitor speakers .. they always do and its pretty exciting too !!...

Thanks for the reply.
I have seen most of the posts on monitors and have seen people (like Dragon ) knock the monitor one but didn't give a reason why. Perhaps he or somebody else can tell me why ?.

Hey Shailat:

LacHim: [Don't know how to spell it but greetings way out there where you are.]

I have Alesis Monitor ones. They are OK but just OK. Speaker positioning has a lot to do with the resultant sounds; I am moving my speakers around about twice a month.

The Nanoverb is barely all right. Just a few reverbs to use and you can't edit them. My advice would be to spend a little more and get a better reverb. I have the Alesis Midi/Verb or Micro/Verb, can never remember which one when I'm at the office. It is a good box; I also have an Ensonique DP-4 and that baby has some stuff one it that makes recording very interesting.

In the U. S. we can rent certain pieces of equipment for 90 days and if it works out then buy one or shop around for the best price via the 800 numbers.

Well, I hope I've helped a bit.

Hi Shailat,

I just talked to some people about those Alesis Monitor One bashings they have once a while in the net. People I've talked to, found the Monitor Ones have hyped bass and compared to a lot others (including their its own little brother Point 7s) does sound good for monitoring system. Some even say that it has those hifi-systems bottom end.

When I got my Point 7 I know that its a bit weak in the bass. So naturally I was thinking of getting a sub-woofer system but then realized that unless you are doing those dance, hip-hop stuff with a lot of low frequencies, you may not need such careful monitoring on those range of frequencies. So now I guess I can live with my Point 7s with my old Sony headphones.

As for the reverb system, it'll really depend on how raw natural or weird you want your sound to be. For techno-dance (weird sounds) go for the Zoom 1202 or 1204 (I forgot). Got some cool vocoder and funny stuff like that. If you're just doing pop/rock (raw natural sound), a simple clean reverb will do ... Funny thing about reverb systems, we get a rack with has 1 million sounds and we often end up using just a handful. I have one favourite setting and it's all I've ever use.
