Monitor Management Control Device??

I recently posted a very dumb question (yes, there are dumb questions, escpecially from me..) miroslav replied to it as I was coming back to delete the post before anyone read it because I figured out my dilemma..

Not sure why the RCA things is a problem with active monitors...just get a conversion cable.
Do you know if the amp for the passive monitors takes RCA?

Here's the thing...with a passive system, you have two sets of components that need to match up well...with an active system, it's already been matched up for you...not to mention, you don't need a place for the amp, it's built into the monitor enclosure.
I have one active pair and two passive systems, which are a bit older. But if I had to buy new, unless it was some VERY high-end, esoteric passive system coupled with similar type amps...I would get active monitors again.

AFA monitor control...there are a bunch of products out there...it comes down to what you need to connect to it AFA how much flexibility it must have.
 
thats HILARIOUS that you mentioned the converter, because I just figured that out...I actually came back to erase that post. I AM going for the active monitors.. Ive heard alot about the KRK Rokit's.. found a bundle on Amazon.com through a couple of places that sell a Bundle.. comes with the KRK Rokit RP5 G2 monitors, 2 stands, and 2 XLR Cables...for $329.. sounds like a good deal..? whattaya think? now, i am going to need a Male 3-pin XLR to a Male RCA, correct? i cant believe I didnt think of that earlier. I was pulling my hair out, cuz the second I thought I found a good deal on a decent set of monitors, i was like "sh!t...of course, cant use those, my 8-track doesnt have XLR outs.. lol.. anyway, thanks so much for your patience with my idiocy.. :drunk::spank:
 
one more things

im just unsure if im going to NEED the monitor control.. or is that basically for SERIOUS F'in studios?... im building a home studio, though Im serious... Im just talking like.... SEEEEERRRIOUS..lol.. i apologize.. had a couple brews in the midst of stressing out over my monitor dilemma... and everyone wasnt joking.. monitors can be the most frustrating topic...glad its almost over! (wait.. DAMNIT, I still havent even bought the damn things yet!):o:cool:
 
And I just moved this to Newbies, hoping you would get some help..it was 3 days in the mixing forum without a reply...and now I find, you not only figured it out yourself, but got a reply also!:D
